Searching in Google for Middle Eastern weblogs, I found not a single mention of weblogs in Azeri or Turkish, and only two weblogs in Urdu. Expanding my search a little bit further, I found only 35 results for "Arabic weblogs OR blogs". I found 56 weblogs in Kurdish and 92 in Hebrew. But, astonishingly, there were 4,870 hits for Persian weblogs.

Why are weblogs are so important for Persian-speaking people?
