Women, Art and Technology (29 Apr 2004)
In many respects, the scope of Women, Art, and Technology is refreshingly wide. In this book, unlike in many publications in this field, artists working with music and sound do not play second fiddle to their counterparts in the visual arts. While its emphasis is on the last ten years or so, many of its themes and contributions date back to the late 1960s. And, to its great credit, Women, Art, and Technology does not confine itself to artists working with new technologies: there are plenty of pre-digital tools in play between its covers too.
