Worlds apart: the difference between intranets and websites (04 Mar 2003)
There are more differences than similarities between an intranet and corporate website. These will have a considerable impact on the design and structure of the sites, as well as the tools and processes used to maintain them. Approach each site separately, and conduct design activities to meet the distinct goals and requirements.
While a coordinated strategy across both sites is certainly needed, this can only be realised once the specific requirements for each site have been identified.
