Several hypothesis could be proposed to explain this phenomenon. New terms may have supplanted "user" to denote similar concepts, or this area is receiving less attention because it is generally considered to be a "solved" problem. A similar phenomenon may be observed for the term "image" which has experienced a declining frequency over the past 10 years.
