This particular bug is also a good example of how lazy design and programming practices can end up greatly amplifying the effects of a genuine error: If the user saw the word, "Start," on all unbookmarked programs and only saw "Start Over" on shows that offered the resume option, they would be far more likely to realize there was something wrong before they pressed Select. It wouldn't fix the fatal bug, but it would at least give users a fighting chance.
